Short Biography

Shanta Yeasmin-is an academic professional at RTM Al-Kabir Technical University (RTM-AKTU) with demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership. She is acting as the Head of the Department of Technology (Fashion Design) at RTM Al-Kabir Technical University (RTM-AKTU). Prior to this role, she worked as a Lecturer in the B.Sc. (Hons.) program in Fashion Design & Technology at the esteemed National Institute of Design (NID). Her professional journey also includes valuable industry experience as a Fashion Designer at Promoda Textile Limited and Abonti Color Tex, where she demonstrated strong creative and technical expertise in fashion design and textile development. In addition to her academic and professional achievements, she has been recognized as a Key Winner in Bangladesh for her contributions and excellence in the fashion sector.

Shanta Yeasmin completed her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Fashion Design and Technology from the prestigious BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). With a blend of academic leadership, industry experience, and creative innovation, she continues to contribute significantly to fashion education and design development.

Her research interests lie in the fields of product development &fashion trend analysis, pattern technology, and textile technology. she is particularly interested in exploring innovative approaches to fashion design, learning emerging fashion trends, and integrating modern textile technologies into contemporary fashion development.

Delivered undergraduate-level instruction in fashion design and apparel technology, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical studio-based learning. Courses taught include Fashion Styling and Promotion, Textile Technology, Quality Control, Product Development, Advanced Pattern Making, Pattern Drafting, Fashion Art, Sewing Technology, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Industrial Training.
