Welcome to RTM Al-Kabir Technical University (RTM-AKTU). I, together with my fellow Board of Trustee (BoT) members of the university are aware of, and committed to, our responsibilities and duties as Board members to do whatever is in the best interest of the University.
I am honoured to serve as the founder Chairperson of the RTM Al-Kabir Technical University Board of Trustees. I am pleased to lead RTM-AKTU’s Board of Trustees during a historic time of the university, and excited to see where we go next. With the support of all members of our RTM-AKTU family, there is nothing we can’t achieve as we strive to serve our students, our global community, and Bangladesh. Given that the Board is still in many ways adjusting to the challenges of directing and controlling the affairs of a higher education in the process of transitioning from an idea to a fully established university, many challenges lie before us. Still, I believe that we can be successful and achieve our goals of real transition, if we all work together in a transparent and collaborative manner in which there is mutual respect and on-going dialogue. We have been able to establish the university with vision and values that underpin the concept of inclusiveness, spirit of the liberation of Bangladesh and community engagement in the heart of it. However, we realize that achieving the vision to the fullest would be a journey that would never end.
The RTM-AKTU reflects our vision to become a Centre of Excellence comparable to one of the best in the world for producing professionals with leadership quality in technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and management. The university was founded on the idea that theoretical application must be applicable to the practical ‘real life’ current job market. However, the major goal initiated by the university founders and management was to build an academic institution that competes, in national and global standing, any top world ranked university. RTM-AKTU is on an unstoppable path and our commitment to excellence is ever expanding, through new quality-assurance policies, the beginning of international accreditation efforts, and the expansion into new areas of study. Our collaborations with world renowned prestigious universities will open a new horizon to the high-quality education that is on offer on our campuses. I believe RTM-AKTU is different from other universities in several ways. One of the unique features is the concept of ‘career-focused work integrated learning’, which would equip students with the technical knowledge and skills to become successful in their life.
We want RTM-AKTU students stand out in their workplace. The University offers opportunities to specialize concurrently in the functional areas of management as well as in the social issues. Moreover, RTM-AKTU will sensitize the students with the history of independence of Bangladesh. For realizing the vision, we are committed to provide outstanding guidance and leadership, talented faculty, advanced physical facilities, and alliances with global institutions for academic and research excellence. Currently, we have two multi-storied buildings in Sylhet providing ample space for academic and entertaining activities for our students.
