The BDPH equips students with the theories and skills to understand and quantify macro-level population dynamics and their downstream implications for public health and health policies. The program is designed to prepare public health professionals to begin careers in a variety of health agencies: governmental health agencies, voluntary health agencies, community based/non-governmental agencies, medical care services, education agencies, and business and industry. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the Bangladesh Civil Service Examination for cadre service.

The minimum requirement set by the UGC for admission in the Bachelor of Science in Demography and Public Health is GPA 2.0, in both the ‘SSC and HSC’ or ‘O level and A level’ or equivalent (Arabic Education). Students of all groups (e.g., Science, Business Studies/Commerce, Humanities/ Arts/etc.) are also eligible to apply.

The BDPH degree requires the successful completion of 145 credit points of subjects with 8 semesters, including:

• Total Fees (3 Semesters, 54 credits):  After 40% waiver Tk. 109,500
• With a payment of Tk. 15,000 a student can get admission/registration. The rest of the amount can be paid in the beginning of each semester.

• Library caution money Tk. 1,000, which is refundable and thus not included in the total amount.
• The semester fee, LAB fee and tuition fee of 1stsemester should be deposited within 15 days of admission.

• For all, 40% waiver of Semester and Tuition Fees (for 50th Year of Bangladesh’s Independence).
