Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering(CSE)
The aim of Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is to constantly strive to provide an in-depth knowledge to its students so that they add value to the existing knowledge of computer science and engineering and its allied concepts. We promote our students through creative approaches by which they can provide simple solutions to complex technical problems within the sphere of computer science and engineering. We also owe to deliver, through our teaching learning process, the richness of multidisciplinary knowledge and skills in a way where ethics and social commitments will be the corner stone for our students. |

After successful completion of this program our students will have a solid foundation on different programming languages and research works, which will help them to build up their carrier in IT & Software industry as Data Scientist, Software developer, Web developer, System analyst, Network architect, Software tester and Product manager at home and abroad. The program will serve as a resource to inform society about innovations related to the production and uses of computers and software.
- Duration: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a four-year course designed for students to acquire conceptual and practical skills of CSE. This four year consists of 8 semesters, and each semester comprises 6 months.
- Credit requirement: To acquire CSE degree, a student has to earn 145 credits.
- Degree requirements: Minimum CGPA 2.50.
- Evaluation system: Outcome-based evaluation system recommended by UGC of Bangladesh.
The CSE program consists of the following courses:

| Admission Requirements |
To be eligible for admission in B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering program, a candidate must pass SSC and HSC examinations or its equivalent in Science Group. To apply for admission the candidates will require 12-years of formal education with the expected results as mentioned below:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA both in SSC or equivalent exam (Dakhil, Vocational) and HSC or Equivalent exams (Alim, Vocational). GPA 2 may be considered provided total GPA in both levels stands at 6.00. Or,
- ‘O’ level examination 5 subjects and for ‘A’ level examination 2 subjects must be passed respectively from which at least ‘B’ grade or GPA ‘4’ must be obtained in 4 courses and ‘C’ grade or GPA ‘3.5’ must be obtained in the remaining three subjects out of total 7 courses in both the levels. or,
- Applicants having HSC/equivalent examination from Technical Education Board with Mathematics higher mathematics, Physics, with minimum GPA 2.5/2nd division in HSC. or,
- or 4 (four) years Diploma in CSE/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronic Engineering/ Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic Institute with a minimum CGPA 2.0 (out of 4)/ 2nd division.
- Sons/daughters of Freedom Fighters with an aggregate GPA of 5.00 in SSC and HSC.
| Fee Structure |
- Total Fees (8 Semesters, 145 credits): After 40% waiver Tk. 267,900
- Just pay Tk. 15,000 for admission/registration. The rest of the amount can be deposited in the beginning of each semester.

| Important Notes |
- Application Form price Taka 500.
- Library caution money Tk. 1,000, which is refundable and thus not included in the total amount.
- Deposit at least Tk. 15,000 as registration fee during admission and the rest of the amount can be deposited in the beginning of each semester.
- The semester fee, skill/LAB fee and tuition fee of 1st semester should be deposited within 15 days of the submission of Admission Application Form..
| Fee Waiver |
- All students will get a 40% waiver of Semester and Tuition Fees (for 50th Year of Bangladesh’s Independence).
- The eligible students may get other fee waivers as per RTM-AKTU policy. For more details, please contact admission office.
