Master of Public Health (MPH)

The vision of the department is to evolve into a globally integrated Department of Applied Health and Nutrition contributing towards medicine, applied health and nutrition, leadership and research excellence. The department aims to produce students who would be an adaptive lifelong learner, passionate professional and enthusiastic. Our students will be unique because they have the freedom to design a career of their own choice.

The interdisciplinary learning technology will prepare our students to contribute to applied health and nutrition, leadership and research excellence. After successful completion of this program students will have a research-based strong foundation in issues that impact population health and healthcare systems, including environmental health, disease prevention, health informatics, public and global health, ethics, and behavioral and cultural issues. Our students will be professionally competent to choose their career in Epidemiology, Essential Service Delivery, Public Health Nutrition, and Environmental Health, at home and abroad.

The MPH program consists of the following courses:

The minimum qualifications for admission to MPH program are:

• Medical Graduate like Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent professional degree in Alternate Medicine, from any recognized university. The graduate doctor must have to be registered with National Registration Authority. or
• Four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized university with a grade point average of 2.5 or more on a scale of 4.0. or
• Three-year bachelors' degree with honors, with at least a second class and at least two years related work experience. or
• Master degree from a recognized university. or
• Graduate/BSc degree with diploma in medical related subjects such as diploma in Pharmacy, Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Health Technology. or
• Graduate/BSc degree in medical related subjects such as Nutrition, Pharmacy, Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Health Technology.

• Qualified teaching faculties
• Provide course materials including lecture notes and presentations
• Practical learning through field visit

• Total Fees (3 Semesters, 54 credits):  After 40% waiver Tk. 109,500
• With a payment of Tk. 15,000 a student can get admission/registration. The rest of the amount can be paid in the beginning of each semester.

• Application Form Fee Tk. 500.
• Library caution money Tk. 1,000, which is refundable and thus not included in the total amount.
• The semester fee, LAB fee and tuition fee of 1stsemester should be deposited within 15 days of admission.

• For all, 40% waiver of Semester and Tuition Fees (for 50th Year of Bangladesh’s Independence).
• The eligible students may get other fee waivers as per RTM-AKTU policy. For more details, please contact admission office.
